Dream Teams

HOTS - What part of the team are you?[dropcap4 variation=”blue”]A[/dropcap4]dream team is comprised of two to four distinct members, representing each of the four basic PM profile types. The premise of a dream team is primarily for entrepreneurs, managers, project directors, and other team-oriented motivators and leaders. The goal of a dream team is to surround yourself with one to three additional people who will round out the four basic profiles. For instance, if you are a Hare, you will want to seek out an Owl, Turtle, and Squirrel to form your dream team.[pullquote1 quotes=”true” align=”right” variation=”blue”]The goal of a dream team is to surround yourself with one to three additional people who will round out the four basic profiles.[/pullquote1]

The purpose of having a dream team is to provide a healthy venue for you to meet, collaborate, brainstorm, and produce systems and practices that will advance your projects and your planning efforts. If you are not a skilled planner, you may want an Owl who understands your business or line of work who can aid and guide you in the development of your planning skills.

A dream team can be as small as two people (such as a Hare/Owl and a Turtle/Squirrel), but is most effective when each profile type is represented fully in a single individual. In effect, if you are a Hare/Owl, you may only represent about 50% of the natural abilities of those profile types, and you may wish to find another Hare/Owl, as well as a Turtle and a Squirrel to form your dream team. Relying entirely on combination profiles often results in weak representation in team meetings.
